Founder and Background

The Malin Group was founded in 1993 by Peter Malin as a boutique consulting firm that specialized in the valuation issues of real property. The principals had left successful careers with the “big eight” accounting firms that focused on real estate analysis and had also run a successful national valuation and real estate consulting practice.

His training at the accounting firm had taught Mr. Malin and his staff to focus on the details, backing up assumptions with research, to math-check the work, to keep organized work-papers, and to add value for each client by giving straight advice, based on solid research and opinions.

 Investment, Brokerage and Development Experience

While managing the firm, Mr. Malin, who is an active real estate broker and investor, created and managed real estate partnerships owning large tracts of land, which at one time included over 15,000 acres in Texas. At the same time, he has led the firm in their real estate litigation practice testifying in local, state and federal courts in cases from coast to coast and from the Caribbean to Canada.

His experience as a broker, investor and developer gives him a wide range of experience which has allowed him to advise clients and their attorneys in real estate litigation including, condemnation, partner disputes, construction defects, title policy DIVs, zoning cases, partitions of land and other types of litigation.
